Places to eat
Eating out is generally very cheap in South Africa, with an average three course meal costing about £10.00 (incl. wine). Whatever your food needs or cravings, from lunchtime snacks to the full Gourmet meal, you can satisfy them all in, and around, Plettenberg Bay.

Some of the options and recommendations for eating out are given in the following paragraphs. These are just a small fraction of the eating places available to you in and around Plettenberg. International cuisine such as Italian, Chinese, Italian, Thai etc., can also be found in the area. Knysna is famous for its oysters and, as a result, many restaurants serve this delicacy.
Weldon Kaya
This is a lodge with a restaurant offering mouth-watering meals in a traditional African theme. Weldon Kaya is just a short drive from the apratment and is placed high on a hill with a commanding view of the Bay - Robberg, the Outeniquas and the magic of the Garden Route spread out before you.
The Lookout
A bar restaurant located on the lookout beach. Ideal for a sundowner and 'pub grub' on the roof terrace whilst watching whales (in season) and dolphins in the bay. Once the sun falls over the horizon move to the restaurant downstairs for a delectable menu in pleasant surroundings.
Moby Dicks Grill
Located on the central beach and boasting 'seafood the local way' Moby Dicks seafood grill is well worth a visit. Needless to say the views from the beach deck are spectacular.
The Plettenberg Hotel
This hotel offers that 'must do' special occasion, spoil yourself, four-star, luxury meal. This is real pretentiousness and once more is right on the bay. Afternoon tea on the terrace overlooking the ocean, beaches and mountains is also well worth considering.
Old Nicks
Recommended for breakfast or lunch is the licensed restaurant located at Old Nicks Village. Old Nicks is a group of craft galleries situated in a local craft village with a working weaving museum and ,makes a memorable visit. It is located about 3km out of town on the N2 heading East.
